With 20+yrs experience of teaching/education (UK/UAE), I have proactively worked as part of both senior (SLT) and middle management teams. This has been as Innovation & Digital Lead-SLT (across 3 schools concurrently), Head of Pastoral – Academic and Well-being, Head of Dept - Design & Technology/Health and Social Care, and Education Coordinator for Engineering for Kids - UAE STEM activity provider. Additionally, l have also support academic curriculum development across primary phase through a variety of roles. Due to the impacts COVID-19, l was with limited contact in schools from March to September 2020, so used the time to build and develop www.educationyalla.com / educationyalla.teachable.com a LMS platform supporting young adults with a holistic approach to future skills ... The focus is on providing access to great resources on topics such as C21st skills, success strategies, competencies in financial literacy, health & wellness and much more. This is now being piloted and used by 300+ students. The development period led to many learning opportunities and interesting connections, which have additionally enhanced my own personal learning/development. These Include further accreditations - Life Coaching (certification), Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT basic and advanced certification), UN:CCLearn (Climate Change) teacher accreditation, Advanced Certification Design Thinking – IDEO University and The Science of Well-Being – Yale University In 2021 l look forward to developing more interactive courses and exciting projects which support young adults with personal, social and health & wellbeing development.
