Taaleem Schools record results in IB Exams
“I am delighted to share the news that each of our 4 IB schools has achieved record-breaking results this year achieving an average of 35.2 points across our schools.
We have had four students awarded the maximum 45 points; a historic and phenomenal achievement, as on average only 0.3% of global students ever accomplish this award. All of our schools have attained results significantly above the world average point score. We are particularly proud of this as our admissions policy is non-selective.
In this context, these results are even more impressive as they have been awarded after facing true adversity and whilst navigating the extreme challenges that the pandemic threw at the world of education.
Our teachers, students and parents have been incredibly adaptive, and collaborative during the last, extremely challenging and uncertain 18 months. An enormous amount of credit is due to them for their incredible efforts to overcome the enormous educational and emotional difficulties posed whilst teaching, supporting and studying.
This achievement coupled with the recent announcement of the ten-year golden visa for high-performing students and their families is phenomenal news for the UAE. There is now a proven wealth of world class talent, nurtured in the UAE, that is now a resource and ready to positively contribute to the nation’s National Agenda aspirations and beyond.” - Alan Williamson, CEO, Taaleem
"These last two years have been the most challenging faced by any IB students with the constant challenges of Covid regulations and changes to assessment models. For our students to come out with such stellar results is a fantastic achievement and just shows what a magnificent group of students and teachers we have at Greenfield International School.
Overall, we are incredibly proud of what our students have achieved and the breadth and depth of their success. This is a testament to the incredible level of effort shown by students, staff and parents across two challenging years of IB education. Well done and congratulations to our graduating class of 2021." - Dr Allan Weston, Principal, Greenfield International School
“This is a record-breaking set of results for Raha. We are ecstatic to announce we have two students achieve maximum points – Eric Zhou and Hannah Lila. As well as increasing our pass-rate and average points with our largest ever cohort of 134 students. 5 % of our students achieved a bi-lingual diploma this year – another high for Raha.” Our students are travelling far and wide to many of the top ranked universities in the world." - Iain Colledge, Executive Principal, Raha International School
"The results are amazing! We have improved significantly in all areas. With 100% pass rate, an average point score of 35.3 and 2 and 2 students being awarded the maximum 45 points, it just shows what can be achieved, despite very challenging times. The number of students achieving above 30, 35 and 40 points has also increased very significantly over the 3 years." - Pali Nahal, Principal, Uptown International School
"We are incredibly proud of the Class of 2021. They have been a hugely committed grade group that have worked together, as a caring community, to support each other in these very challenging times. Several students had to work under challenging circumstances, due to their own health or that of family members, and especially the accomplishments of these students deserve a special mention. The JBS Class of 2021 are deserving of the high results they achieved, and they are well prepared for the next steps in their educational journey. A special thank you to our immensely supportive and dedicated team of teachers that helped to ensure our students obtained these amazing results. This eighth graduation class of JBS saw the highest point score and point score average, which would not have been possible without the efforts of our students and teachers, and the support of the parents!" - Richard Drew Principal Jumeira Baccalaureate School
“I am thrilled to see that all the time, hard work and sweat I have put into not only my final two years of IB, but all 12 years has paid off. It has been an intense rollercoaster of high moments and low and knowing that I have achieved the results I have worked so hard to get makes me immensely proud of myself. I am happy that I can make my parents and friends proud as well, and I must thank them for the continuous support they have provided that has helped me to achieve these results. Moreover, being able to go to the university I wanted to because I was motivated and remained dedicated has made even the low moments worth it. Although leaving the school phase of my life behind has been sad, I am excited for the new adventures to come in university, and I am grateful for the help Greenfield International School has provided along the way.” - Laura Neron-Bancel, joint highest scorer and Azzam Prize winner, Greenfield International School.

Additional comments:
"We are immensely proud of the achievements of our Grade 12 students who broke all school records and performed well above international averages in the 2021 International Baccalaureate Diploma and Career Related Programmes.
Incredibly 100% of our Diploma Programme students achieved the full Diploma, indeed every student passed every part of every course they sat. The school average points score record was also broken with students achieving on average 34.43 points- this is well above international averages.
Whereas we are delighted for all our students and most beat the world average, three of them also gained the best results the school has ever seen in the Diploma Programme. Mariana Abu Jamra Shahad Badr and Laura Neron-Bancel all scored 43 points out of 45 and Ali Eltair gained 42. In fact, almost a quarter of all students scored 40 points or more.
The school saw strong results in every area with subjects consistently above the 2020 world average. We are particularly pleased with our Maths results as this course was new this year and our science subjects continue to improve year on year to well over international averages in Biology, Chemistry and Physics. Arabic, English, all the Humanities and Modern Foreign Language subjects continue to shine.
We are also immensely proud of our Career-Related Programme students. This course combines Diploma courses with a full BTEC Diploma and units focusing on language, personal skills and a large reflective project. Like in the Diploma every single student passed every exam taken in the Diploma Courses section and the 86% pass rate is well above the world average of 77%. Once again every student passed their level 3 BTEC courses. We are proud of all the students with Seung Lee gaining level 6s in all his Diploma courses and a Double Distinction in his level 3 BTEC.
Success is not measured simply by examination results but also the opportunities that these results allow our students. Their university destinations show what a truly diverse range of students we have. From our 2021 cohort we have students going to universities across the world including, St Andrews University, Leeds University and York University in the UK, University of Twente, Erasmus University and the University of Amsterdam in the Netherlands, University of Toronto in Canada, The Harriet L. Wilkes Honors College at Florida in the USA, Semmelweis University in Hungary as well as the American University of Beirut, American University of Cairo and universities across the UAE. Students will be studying courses across the subject range including medicine, veterinary science engineering, marine biology, design, law, economics, business and finance, psychology, computer science and education.
