Chairperson: Dr. Helen Wright, International Education Advisor and Director, Global Thought Leadership
Dr Helen Wright is a highly regarded global leader with an energetic career spanning almost 3 decades in UK and international education. She led schools and held national and international roles in education in the UK and Australia for over 13 years until 2014, before embarking on an independent portfolio career in leadership recruitment, executive coaching and governance advisory. As a highly regarded International Education Advisor, with a warm yet determinedly incisive style, she challenges and coaches educational and other leaders globally to think and act ambitiously. She holds several Board Director roles, and she recruits international school leaders as an Associate of LSC Education. She currently works with schools, leaders and companies in countries including the UAE, China, India, the Netherlands and the UK.
Kai Vacher, Principal, British School Muscat and British School Salalah
Following 25 years working in the UK state sector, Kai was appointed Principal of British School Muscat in 2011. In 2019 his role was extended to include responsibility for British School Salalah with a commitment to ensuring the same high standards of excellence for its students. Kai continues to be inspired by his students, colleagues and communities at both BSM and BSS.
Kai is an elected member of the COBIS Board of Directors and Country Representative for BSME. He was honoured to be recognised as one of the top international education influencers by ISC Research in 2021 and 2022.
Tracy Moxley, Executive Principal, Citizens School
Tracy Moxley is an educational leader who has experience, leading in UK, US and international education. She has extensive experience in educational innovation, new pedagogies, teacher professional development and school improvement. As a curriculum developer, Tracy is committed to interdisciplinary, innovative global citizenship education and service learning. She has recently been developing student and teacher global exchange experiences to enhance student learning.
Tracy has also been involved in research with Harvard Graduate School of Education Project Zero in the implementation of innovative pedagogy through teacher action research, exploring the creation of innovative communities within educational institutions. She has also been committed to student wellbeing and the correlation between wellbeing and academic performance.
Tracy is a published author on the IB Middle Years programme and was a Co-Founder of The Kindred Project; a unique NGO set up and led by students, supporting peers in developing schools in India, Morocco and Uganda.
As a CIS inspector, she has also completed international accreditation visits at prestigious schools in Moscow and Prague. Tracy has a Master’s degree in Media Education and Professional Diploma in International Education from the Institute of Education, University College London. Tracy has recently taken up the position as Executive Principal of Citizens School in Dubai.
Vanessa Whay, Founding Principal, Durham School for Girls, Doha
Vanessa has been an International Head of School for over 16 years and is delighted to be the Founding Principal of Durham, School for Girls Doha. A graduate of Cambridge University and a teacher of over 25 years, Vanessa has lead projects in Spain, Panama and now the Middle East. Vanessa is a true champion of children being the best they can be regardless of gender, circumstance, or culture. DSGD is the first British all female school and campus in Qatar.
